Vanilla Hazelnut Tea I was a very precocious child and had a propensity for espousing all sorts of theories. In the sixth grade, I wrote my very first term paper on The Vanilla Theory. It is important for you to know that I was a very biased researcher due to my strong feelings for vanilla ice cream. I set out to prove that vanilla lovers were more subtle, sensitive and intelligent because true appreciation of this flavor required those personal characteristics. In comparison, chocolate was much less challenging and had mass appeal, obviously not a flavor for the gifted iconoclast. I also found there was a higher percentage of left-handed vanilla lovers in my class, adding weight to my fast developing theory. My teacher gave me an A for originality, but she did question the validity of my research techniques. Enjoying a left-handed cup of Vanilla Hazelnut Tea, I am reminded of that invaluable piece of research. It is tempting to re-open my decades-old files in order to explore how the introduction of hazelnuts impacts my lifelong favorite, brewed together as a tea. However, my bias would show through again, as I just love this seductively aromatic blend. Some things are just meant to be experienced.
