Panax Ginseng, which has a long history of use in Chinese aphrodisiacs. A recent study has shown that constituents known as ginsenosides can promote increased blood flow to the genital tissues. Constituents of Panax Ginseng bind to hormone receptors, and may be helpful in promoting hormonal balance. Ginseng has also been shown to be helpful with related menopausal concerns such as fatigue, insomnia and depression that can play a role in decreased sexual drive.

Damiana, known for its long history of use as an herbal aphrodisiac. A small placebo-controlled study showed that a combination of Ginseng, Damiana and Ginkgo helped to improve sexual desire and satisfaction.

Muira Puama, a South American herb which has recently received much attention for its support of sexual functioning. A small study with Muira Puama and Ginkgo showed that 65% of the women in the study reported improved sexual satisfaction, intensity of sexual desire and ability to reach orgasm.

Ginkgo Biloba, shown in a recent study to be effective in improving sexual function in people using antidepressant medication, with women responding more favorably than men. In this study, women reported increased desire, lubrication and orgasm.

Motherwort, which has calming effects on the nervous system. Motherwort has been specifically indicated for post-menopausal decline in libido.
